Dr. Nate Johnson & the team had a great time getting to know some of our neighbors at the Back to School Bash and Family Fun Festival on August 11! We enjoyed handing out almost 250 goody bags and chatting with patients in the area.
We were also ready to answer questions and give out dental health tips now that school is back in session.
If you didn’t make the event, don’t worry! You can still read up on our tips for keeping smiles healthy now that school has started up again.
3 Back-to-School Dental Tips
These are our top 3 tips for healthy smiles this school year.
- As life gets sportier, take care to prevent dental injury. If your child plays fall sports, make sure they protect their smile with a mouthguard.
- Make this the year your family starts flossing. If you brush your teeth twice a day, that’s great! But if you don’t also floss daily, you’re only cleaning 2/3’s of your smile. Educate yourself on the proper way to floss your teeth, and encourage the rest of your family to do the same.
- Get your family’s dental appointments on the books. If your year is going to be busy, consider scheduling your child’s dental appointments ahead of time. People of all ages need to see the dentist every 6 months. If you make the appointment now, we will remind you when it’s coming up, so it’s one less thing to think about! It may make sense for you to schedule a block appointment, so you can take care of the whole family at once.
